Course Description
IMAC Spanish Language Programs is a school dedicated to the instruction of Spanish as a foreign language. Four decades of experience have armored our programs with solid academic foundations and innovative insight permitting constant renovation. In addition to our accreditation from The Secretary of Education of Mexico since 1976, IMAC Spanish Language Programs is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes as an official examination center for the Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language in Guadalajara, Mexico, widely known as DELE (Diploma de Español como lengua Extanjera).

The DELE, Spanish acronym for Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language, is the sole standardized accreditation system for Spanish as a foreign language students accepted in over 100 different countries around the world. This certification is granted by The Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport through the Instituto Cervantes. A DELE diploma provides the beholder with an accredited level of competence and mastery of Spanish.

We are perhaps the only language center in Mexico with official accreditation for DELE testing from, The Ministry for Education of Spain and The Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language from The Secretary of Education of Mexico.

The following are the six different DELE levels:

A1- Starter level:
This qualification attests to sufficient linguistic ability for a very basic range of the most commonly simple expressions used in the Spanish-speaking world and in order to satisfy immediate needs of a concrete type.

A2- Waystage or Elementary level:
This qualification attests to sufficient linguistic ability for understanding a basic range of the commonly simple and immediate relevance of expressions used in the Spanish-speaking world (basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).

B1- Beginner Level:
Academically it attests that the beholder has gained the proficiency demanded by high school education standard. Professionally, this diploma certifies that the recipient can interact in predictable scenarios that do not require making important decisions.

B2- Intermediate Level:
Academically it attests that the beholder has gained the proficiency demanded by a pre-superior education standard such as that of a technician. Professionally, it certifies that the recipient can act in day to day situations and perform routine tasks with a certain autonomous extent even though he/she may require help from a native speaker from time to time.

C1:
At this level, users are expected to be able to use the structures of a language with ease and fluency. Users are able to adapt their language use to a variety of social situations, and express opinions and take part in discussions and arguments in a culturally acceptable way.

C2- Superior Level:
Academically it attests that the beholder has gained the proficiency demanded by a superior degree of education such as a B.S. or B.A. Professionally it certifies that the recipient can interact in all types of scenarios and contexts and perform task that require executive and decision making not to mentioned processing of complex and technical vocabulary.

Daily Agenda

9:00 AM to 11:00 AM You are involved in direct Spanish language instruction with a professional native instructor. All areas of Spanish language fluency are developed.
11:00 AM TO 11:15 AM You go to break.
11:15 AM to 1:00 PM You resume lessons with your Spanish native instructor. Note: Every Friday, at the end of the course, you will take a written exam before the class is over.

 

Where to stay in Guadalajara

  • Homestay:Our homestays are located in nice residential areas at about 30 minutes via public transportation from our school. Our families are chosen from those of the students studying English here with us. Since we have a student body of approximately 2000+ students studying English, we can afford to use very specific guidelines to find the family most suited to your needs. Homestay program includes: one student per family unless otherwise requested, three meals per day, free Wi-Fi and a cooking class every Monday. Homestay begins one day prior to the beginning of the classes and concludes up to one day after classes finish.
  • Hostels: Located within a short walk from our school. These hostels offer private and shared rooms. For your comfort all hostels are equipped with a kitchen, and dining room conditioned ideally for having a conversation with other guests, watching cable television, or simply gliding the day with a cup of coffee, free WIFI. Continental breakfast is included in some. Prices range from *$68.00 USD to *$129.00 USD per week, depending on the type of accommodation. Special prices apply for longer stays.
  • Hotels 4 and 5 stars: These are located only a short walk from our school; these establishments offer excellent facilities on single and double rooms. They also feature a restaurant, lounge bar, room service, free Wi-Fi in rooms/public areas. The atmosphere in all is very calm providing its guests with a soothing ambiance and excellent nights’ sleep. Prices range from *$342.00 USD to *$370.00 USD per week, depending on the type of accommodation. Special prices apply for longer stays.
